Shortly after shift change, around 1550 hours, FCB alerted box alarm 55-4 for a reported dwelling fire at 1272 Washington Boulevard. As the Pigtown Firemen left the station, they noted a large column of smoke already. Engine 55 was first to arrive. They arrived on their own plug, side A of two, 2 story middle of the group dwellings with heavy smoke showing from each and requested a Working Fire. They pulled the 150' preconnect and initiated an interior attack. Truck 23 arrived behind the engine. The OIC forced entry for the engine. The step man and tillerman used the 24' extension ladder to ladder the 2nd floor of 1272 and the 16' extension ladder to ladder the 2nd floor of 1274. The driver placed the aerial to the roof for operations. After ladders were thrown, windows were taken out on side A and the roof was opened. Searches were initiated simultaneously in each dwelling. All searches were negative. Companies arriving in the rear reported heavy fire showing from both dwellings. After the fire was knocked, units began to open up and check for extension. Once the fire was under control, units were pulled out so FIB could conduct their investigation. After the investigation was complete, units completed overhaul. The cause remains under investigation. A detailed member to Engine 55 was injured on this call. He was transported by a Medic Unit to Johns Hopkins Bayview Burn Center with non-life threatening injuries. He was released later that evening and we wish him a speedy recovery. The Pride of Pigtown returned to the Pigstie around 1800 hours.

128 N. Mount St... Box Alarm 14-10

Truck 23 was alerted for a dwelling fire in the 100 block of N. Mount St. Units on the scene were reporting a 3 story end of group with smoke showing. As the 2nd truck, T23 laddered and ventilated the rear and preformed primary and secondary searches. Units inside were reporting a basement fire. Once the fire was knocked, units were pulled from the dwelling so that Police Arson could conduct their investigation. T23 was out about 2 hours. E55 was closed for manpower.
212 S. Bruce St... Box Alarm 14-6... 2nd Alarm

Truck 23 arrived just behind Engine 14 who was reporting a 2 story middle of the group vacant, with heavy smoke showing. T23 began opening up and laddering the building. Engine 55 grabbed a plug and took the rear were T10 was reporting heavy fire with extension to both sides. Due to over head lines criss crossing the street, ground ladders had to be used to reach the roof. The fire was so intense a 2nd alarm was requested and everyone was ordered out of the original fire building. Members of T23 worked with E14 on the exposure Bravo roof opening that roof up and gettting water on the fire building while members of E55 worked with t10 on the exposure Delta roof. The original fire building was a complete burn out with the 2nd floor collasped into the basement. Units were out about 2 and half hours. Smoke from this fire could been seen from as far away as Curtis Bay. 

330 S. Poppleton St... Box Alarm 55-3
While Engine 55 was still on the 30 box, a report of dwelling fire came out for Poppleton St. Truck 23 arrived to find a 2 story middle of the group with smoke showing. T23 laddered the building and forced entry. The fire was contained to the 1st floor, middle room and units were out about an hour and half.
5031 Frederick Ave... Box Alarm 30-3... WF
Engine 55 reponded as the 5th due engine for this fire. T8 was on the scene with heavy smoke showing. E55 grabbed a hydrant and lead off to the rear. Units in the front were reporting a basement fire but were unable to make the basement steps. E55 with assistance from E8 made entry from the rear and were able to knock the fire. Units were out for an extended period time while Police Arson conducted their investigation. Its important to note that E30 the 1st due engine, was closed for manpower.

2 fires for D shift. The 1st came out early in the shift for Breitwert Ave and smoke could be seen from quarters. SQ47 reported that the fire was in the rear of Griffis Ave. Units had a 2 story middle of the group with heavy smoke showing, complete burnout of the 1st and 2nd floors of 2043 Griffis Ave.


The 2nd came in around midnite and units had a 3 story middle of the group vacant house with heavy smoke showing and a report of people trapped. T23 found and removed a victim from the 2nd floor. Units also found a 2nd victim on the 3rd floor. Both were transported to Shock Trauma where 1 of them later died. 1 member of T10 suffered minor burns and was treated and released at Bay View.

2316 Lauretta Ave. - Box 36-5 C shift
Engine 55 and Truck 23 were dispatched for a report of smoke from a dwelling. T10 had arrived on the scene reporting a 2 story, middle of the group with heavy smoke showing and reporting they had a basement fire.
T10 was on scene for 6 minutes before the next company, E23, arrived on the scene. E8 was closed for manpower and E36 was on another response.
E55 arrived as the 2nd engine, covering E23's hydrant and T23 covered the rear. T23 laddered the building and began opening up and assissting units already in the basement. 1 FF was injured and company's were out for a little over 2 hours.
Due to Air Flex 2 being closed this night, units had to wait for Air Flex 1 to clear a 2nd alarm fire in Park Heights to be able to fill air bottles.
During this fire, a dwelling fire came in at 1000 Scott St near Hamburg St, a 55 box. The 1st ladder truck on the scene was Truck 1 who was coming from the Oldtown area of the city.
5500 Quarantine Rd. - Box 57-10 C Shift
Engine 55 was picked on the special call for a brush fire and Truck 23 took it on the Working Fire. They had 7 to 10 acres of brush and railroad ties on fire. Engine 55 lead off from another company and was operating hand lines while T23 was assisting Squad 47 in manning handlines and pulling piles of ties apart. Command requasted a 2nd alarm for man power and had several brush trucks from Baltimore County and Anne Arundel County. Units were on scene for many hours.
3565 6th St. - Box 35-6 D Shift
Truck 23 was alerted as the Working Fire truck and Engine 55 took it on the 2nd alarm to assist with 2 vacant dwellings with heavy fire. T23 threw ladders and worked on the roof while E55 work in the exposures.
1629 Warner St. - T6-11 C Shift

Engine 55 and Truck 23 were dispatched for a report of smoke from a building at Warner and Haines St's. T23 arrived to find the rear portion of a partitioned warehouse that was under demolition, with heavy fire. E55 lead off with 5 inch hose and supplied ladder pipes while T23 assisted E14 with hoselines in the neighboring warehouse to keep it out of that exposure. Units were out for several hours.
104 N. Amity St. - Box 23-25
Engine 55 was dispatched as the RIT engine for a reported vacant dwelling fire. T10 was on the scene reporting a 2 story end of group with fire showing. E55 assumed RIT and command asked for the working fire bringing T23 the scene. T23 checked the delta exposure for extension and assissted units on the scene.




516 Warner St. - Box 23-18 WF (D)
Engine 55 dispatched as the 5th engine for a report dwelling fire. E55 is 1st on the scene and finds a 3 story middle of the group with smoke showing and a report of people trapped. E55 stretched lines into the dwelling and discovered a basement fire. As they were making an advance on the fire, Truck 10 rescued a occupant from the 3rd floor. 1 member of E55 suffered minor burns during the fire attack and was treated and released that day. T23 was in service but for unkown reasons doesn't take this box till the 3rd alarm.
2614 St. Benedict St. - 14-4
Engine 55 and Truck 23 responded for their 2nd fire of the shift. T8 was on the scene reporting a 2 story frame duples with heavy fire showing from the rear. Engine 55 establish a water supply and advanced line into the exposure. T23 assissted T8 in throwing ladder and ventilating the roof. The building was evacuated with units switching to defensive operations and a 2nd alarm was sounded. The 2nd floor of the original fire building suffered a partial collaspe and exposure had heavy fire exstension. Both buildings were condemned and units were out for over 3 hours.




321 S. Calhoun St. - Box 55-9
Engine 55 arrived on the scene to find this 2 story middle of the goup with heavy smoke showing from the rear. Truck 23 threw ladders and ventilated as E55 advanced lines into the dwelling. Units in the rear were reporting heavy fire in the rear. E55 & T23 encountered heavy fire on the 1st floor rear and were able to knock the fire. Searches were negative despite neighbors reporting people inside. Units were out for about and hour and a half. One member of E55 recieved minor injuries and we wish him a speedy recovery.



2134 Annapolis Rd. - Box 58-20
Truck 23 arrived on the scene to find a 2 story, middle of the group vacant row home with heavy showing through the roof. Truck 23 threw ground ladders and began opening up while Engine 55 grabbed a hydrant and stretched attack lines. As that was being done, the roof and 2nd floor colasped into the basement. Due to the condition of the building, the fire had to be fault from the outside. With extension to a storage garage on the Bravo side, BC6 pulled a 2nd alarm. The fire had also extended to the telephone pole supporting high voltage wires in front of the dwelling forcing personal and apparatus to moved from the front until the BGE was able to cut the power. Much of the bravo exposure roof had to be removed along with the roof of the delta exposure. Units were on scene for about 3 and half hours.




Truck 23 tranfers to Anne Arundel County Station 31 while many of their companies were on a 3rd alarm high rise fire in Cape St. Claire.

T23 arrived as the 2nd truck and went to work laddering the rear, opening up and securing the utilities. E55 was the 5th engine, covered E23 hydrant and was assigned with checking the bravo exposure. Little overhaul was needed and units were out about 2 hours.

1500 Washington Blvd - Box 55-2
E55 & T23 responded for a building fire inside of Carrol Park. They found fire showing from the roof line from the bath house in the rear of the park. T23 laddered the building and began venting the dormers as E55 stretched lines inside. BC6 requested a working fire as responding companies worked on bringing water into the park. Conditions continued to worsen on the roof and command ordered everyone out and off of the building and a 2nd alarm was sounded. T23 and T10 set up their ladder pipes as E55 and others were manning handlines. By morning, master streams were shut down and crews were able to enter the building, exposing and hitting hot spots. B shift was relieved on the fire ground with A shift clearing around 9am.



113 S. Calhoun St. - Box 14-12
Units were alerted for dwelling fire with people trapped. The 1st arriving units were already on the streets due to this fire intialy being reported at a different address and had smoke showing from a 3 story middle of the group with a person hanging from the 3rd floor window. E55 & T23 took positions in the rear. T23 gained entry in the rear and assissting the engines knock the fire and securing the utilities while T10 & R1 removed a 2nd victim from the 2nd floor.

Truck 23 takes a working fire in Brooklyn. E35 was sent out to investigate smoke in the area and found fire showing from a 2nd floor apartment. They requested the rest of the box and few minutes later asked for the WF. Truck 23 arrived on the scene and went to work checking exposures and found no extension, just trapped smoke. They then assissted the 1st alarm companies with overhaul of the apartment.

E55 and T23 responded as the Working Fire companies for a dwelling fire. Units on the scene were reporting a 2 story middle of the group with heavy fire from the rear of both floors and the basement. E55 & T23 were tasked with checking exposures. T23 laddered exposure bravo and split their crew, 2 members going into each exposure. Heavy smoke conditions were found in both exposures but there was no fire extension. T23 returned to original fire building to give T10 a break and continue to open up and hit hot spots. Units were out about an hour and half.

Truck 23 is transfered to the quarters of Truck 5 due to a 2nd alarm mall fire. While enroute, they were dispatched on a tactical box at Belair Rd and Sinclair for a report of fire called in by an off duty firefighter. Engine 13 arrived on the scene with smoke showing from a 2 story vacant warehouse and was investigating a possible trash fire on the loading docks. Truck 23 arrived just behind E13 assisted E13 getting through the fence and extending thier line while members laddered the building. Upon reaching the loading E13 found heavy extension into the warehouse and requested the rest of the box. Truck 23 checked the 2nd floor for extension and assisted E13 pulling apart bails of clothes and breaching a wall that had extension in it keeping the fire out of the 2nd floor. Units were on scene for about 3 hours.

Sometimes what you see is what you get. This house was under renovations and there was very little to burn inside and units were able to quickly knock this fire.
Box Alarm 47-14.

Truck 23 and Squad 47 were sent to investigate smoke in area of 2039 Hollins Ferry Rd. and found this warehouse with heavy fire showing. The rest of the box was requested along with the HAZMAT units due to large amount of welding equipment inside. Units were out for about 3 and a half hours.
Box Alarm 14-11. Truck 23 responded to 326 S. Gilmor St for a dwelling fire. T23 arrived just behind T10 and took the rear of 2 story middle of the group with fire showing. T23 raised ladders and gained entry to the rear of the structure. On this fire a member of T8 who was detailed to T10 was injured when an air conditioner fell and hit him. We were told he had serious but non life threatening injuries. We like to wish a speedy recovery.
Box Alarm 14-20. While Engine 55 was manning Medic 43, Truck 23 responed to a dwelling fire in the 1600 blk of W. Fayette St. BC3 was on the scene reporting a 3 story end of group with heavy smoke showing. T23 arrived as the second truck and went to the rear to find a 2 story rear with heavy fire conditions. To complicate matters, the building was secuired with the VPA system (metal secuirty doors and window coverings) on the both the 1st and 2nd floors. T23 and R1 went cutting and prying open the windows and doors while E8 who had access through the front, was trying to get a knock on the fire. There was much overhaul both inside and on the roof of the rear and T23 cleared the scene about 2 hours later.
Truck 23 reponded for a vehicle accident with reported people trapped on Caton Ave at 95. T23 arrived to find a dump truck on its side with 2 people in the cab. T23 assissted SQ47 in removing both victims through the front window and assissted in packaging the patients with M9 and M21.



While Engine was manning Medic 43, Truck 23 was picked up on the special call for a warehouse fire at 1903 S. Charles St. T23 arrived and threw multiple grounds as well as their aerial to roof. They assissted units on the roof and inside pulling ceilings which required 10 and 12 foot hooks.
Bussy night for D shift! While manning M43, Truck 23 and Engine 55 were alerted for a dwelling fire at 218 N. Mount St., box 14-7. There was another box in the area so E55 ended up being the 1st engine in with R1 reporting a 3 story end of group with smoke showing from the 3rd floor. T23 arrived a short time later (they had to secure the medic before responding) and laddered the building and began ventilation. E55 stretched a line and with R1 found several fires on the 1st floor, quickly getting a knock on them. Units were out several hours due to investigation.
Later that night, both units repsonded for a dwelling fire at 912 Brunswick St. T8 arrived reporting a 2 story end of group with smoke showing. E55 assumed RIT upon their arrival as T23 laddered the rear and assissted T8 on the roof.
Box Alarm 55-4.
Units responded to a report of porch fire at 1256 Sargeant St. Engine 55 arived on the scene to find smoke showing in the rear of the block. Upon investigating the rear they found porch fully involved and extending to adjacent dwellings. E55 began putting a knock on the fire as T23 and E14 worked inside, pulling ceilings and keeping the fire from extending to the inside. Good team work kept most of the fire contained to the outside of the dwellings.
Truck 23 transfers to AA county station 31 and takes 2 fires. First they were picked up on the 3rd alarm fire in the Curtis Bay area but never made it out of staging. Upon returning to 31 they were put out on a dwelling fire in the Glen Burnie. T23 arrived as the 2nd truck and laddered the front of the building and raised the aerial to the roof of a 2 story, middle of the group town home. Upon entering the house they found a stove fire with extension to the cabnets.
Box Alarm 55-9. E14 arrived on the scene of 208 S. Calhoun St. to find a 2 story vacant end of the group with heavy smoke showing. T23 arrived just behind them, threw ladders and forced the front door. E55 grabbed a hydrant and lead off to the rear. Units found heavy fire coniditions on the 1st floor extending to the 2nd. T23 ventilated and conducted searched which proved to be negative while E55 assissted E14 in extingiushing the fire and knocking hot spots. Units were out 1 hour and 45 minutes.
Box Alarm T6-11. Units were alerted for reports of a building fire at Haines and Warner St's. Upon pulling out of quarters, a column of smoke and fire could be seen in the distance.




T23 was first on the scene and found a large warehouse with heavy fire threw the roof and E58 requested a 2nd alarm. T23 quickly got their ladder pipe up and E26 supplied them water while E55 and E58 set up master streams and supplied T6's ladder pipe. Command quickly asked for a 3rd and 4th alarm. By day break all the visible fire had been knocked down and E55 and T23 began the task of uncovering and knocking hotspots. There were multiple exposure problems including embers landing on the roof a near by Holiday Inn. Fortunately the fire was confined to the structure of origin and no injuries were reported. B shift relieved on the fire ground and finally cleared around noon.
Box Alarm 14-5. Engine 55 and Truck 23 responded for a report of fire at 2115 W. Baltimore St. E14 reported a 2 story middle of the group with smoke showing. T23 arrived as the 2nd truck and took position in the rear, laddering the building and gaining entry to the rear. E55 covered a hydrant and assisting units in the rear.
Engine 55 responds on Hazardous Materials Taskforce Box Alarm 36-3, 2100 W. Franklin St. for the Ammonia leak. Upon their arrival they relieved Squad 47 and assissted in operating hose lines in the warm zone to suppress vapors. They were on this incident for most of the shift.
Box Alarm 14-7. Engine 14 was sent out to investigate a report of fire at 1825 Cole street and when they arrived they found several garages on fire and requested the rest of the box bringing Engine 55 and Truck 23 to the scene. Engine 55 covered their hydrant and pulled a 2nd line off of E14 and assisted them in knocking the fire. Truck 23 gained entry into the garages and once the fires where knocked down, began the task of overhaul. Alot of truck work was requirred and units were out of service for 2 and half hours.
Busy night for D shift. Units were dispatched on a special call on a working fire in Curtis Bay, 1608 Cypress St. Upon their arrival, Truck 23 laddered the front of the building and begin the process of opening up the roofs of several dwellings. By the end of the night, they had cut a total of 7 holes due to the row of houses sharing a common attic space. Engine 55 had grabbed a hydrant and worked with Truck 16 who was picked up on the 2nd alarm, knocking and exposing fire in 2 of the exposure dwellings.
On the way back from that fire, Engine 55 and Truck 23 were picked up for a reported dwelling fire in 1900 block of W. Fayette St. Engine 55 covered a hydrant and backed up units in the rear with a second line while Truck 23 laddered the rear of building and secured the utilities.
Box Alarm 58-12. Engine 55 and Truck 23 are dispatched for a reported dwelling fire at 2943 Mallview Rd. Engine 58 arrived on the scene and reported a 2 story middle of the group with smoke showing and a Working Fire was requested. Engine 55 grabbed a hydrant and both units went to the rear. Engine 55 streched a line through the rear, backing up units inside the dwelling. Truck 23 laddered the house, ventilated the rear and secured the utilities. Units were able to contain the fire
Box Alarm 14-6. Units respond for a report of a building fire at 613 S. Addison St. Truck 23 arrived on the scene with Engine 14 to find a one story auto repair garage with heavy smoke showing. Truck 23 laddered the building and began the task of gaining entry and ventilating. Engine 55 covered 14's hydrant and backed them up with a 2nd line. Units had a diffucult time finding the seat of the fire due to heavy smoke conditions as well as the amount of debris and equipment in the garage. Once the fire was located, a Winnebago in middle of the shop, units were able to get a knock on the fire with only minor extension to the building. Alot of truck work was required for this one and units cleared after about 2 hours.
Box Alarm 14-4. Engine 55 and Truck 23 were put out on a box at 2600 St. Benedict St. at the request of Truck 8 who came upon it while out checking hydrants. Units arrived on the scene to find a 2 story duplex with heavy fire showing. Engine 55 covered a hydrant and went to the front while Truck 23 covered the rear. Engine 55 pulled a second line off of Engine 14 and went to work assissting them in hitting the fire. Truck 23 laddered the rear and began the process of gaining entry and ventilation which required the use of saws due the fashion in which the dwelling was boarded up. A second alarm was requested by command. Units were on the scene for several hours.
Box Alarm T6-11. Truck 23 was dispatched for a report of a warehouse fire at 1629 Warner Street. Engine 55 missed the box due to manning Red Medic 43. Truck 23 was 1st in and a reported a 2 story block warehouse with smoke showing. Truck 23 went to work throwing ground ladders and forcible entry. They found fire on the 1st floor that was extending to the 2nd floor. Truck 23 assissted in knocking the fire and conducted a quick search that was negative. They worked to ventilate the building and overhaul. Units were out about 2 and half hours.
Box alarm 14-2. While units were in the process of changing shifts, units were dispatched for a dwelling fire at 2701 W. Baltimore St. Engine 55 grabbed a hydrant and led off to the rear. Truck 23 arrived as the second truck and took the rear with smoke showing from the 1st and 2nd floors of a 2 story end of group rowhome. Units in the front were reporting a basement fire. Truck 23 went to work throwing ground ladders, ventilated the rear and gaining entry to the basement which had to be forced. Truck 23 secured utilities and checked for extension in the basement and 1st floor. Engine 55 assissted units inside, hitting hotspots in the basement and on the 1st floor. Units returned to service after 2 and half hours.
Box Alarm 58-5. Engine 55 takes a box at 2667 Seamon Ave for a reported dwelling fire. Units on the scene were reporting a 2 story brick dwelling with fire showing from the 2nd floor, extending through the roof. Engine 55 as the 3rd engine, grabbed a hydrant and led off to the rear. They backed up units on the interior and covered exposures.
Box alarm 35-6. Engine 55 is dispatched to 521 Maude Avenue for a dwelling fire. Arriving as the 5th engine, they covered a hydrant and proceded to the rear where they found a 2 story middle of the group that still had heavy smoke showing from the rear. They pulled a hoseline and assissted units in the rear extinguishing the fire and with overhaul.

Upon clearing a medic run in the 200 block of N. Gilmor st, Truck 23 was picked up on the 2nd alarm for 724 Brune St, as did Engine 55 who was in quarters at the time. Engine 8 had arrived on the scene reporting heavy smoke in the block and upon Truck 10 forcing the door, the 2nd floor errupted into flames both from the front and rear and the roof, and a second alarm was requested. When Truck 23 arrived on the scene, only a few blocks away, they found heavy fire 1st and 2nd floors with heavy fire through roof and command was evacuating the building. Truck 23 threw ground ladders and opened up the exposures and assissted Truck 10 on the roof while Engine 55 stretched lines to hit any extension . The fire was brought under control with only minor extension to the exposures in the roof area. Truck 23 assissted in detaining a possible suspect and units cleared after about 2 hours.
Box alarm 58-2. Engine 55 was dispatched as the 5th engine to 3045 Ascension Street. Engine 35 reported a 2 story end of group fully involved. E55 arrived 3rd and grabbed a hydrant, taking the rear. E55 covered Engines 35 and 58 already inside and the exposure dwelling. They were out approximately 3 hours.
Box Alarm 58-16. While Truck 23 was at the shop, Engine 55 was alerted for a dwelling fire with a report of people trapped. Engine 55 arrived first and grabbed a hydrant, taking the front reporting fire showing. E55 quickly strechted hose lines and made an aggressive knock on the fire. The fire was contained to building of origin and the resident had escaped prior to the arrival of any fire department units.
Box Alarm 55-9. Units were alerted for a dwelling fire at 414 S. Calhoun St. and upon making the turn out of quarters a column of smoke could be seen from the area of the report. Truck 23 arrived first and found a 3 story middle of the group with heavy smoke showing from all 3 floors and bystanders stating somone was still inside. T23 quickly went to work getting ladders up, taking out the windows and conducting a search, as Engine 55 covered Engine 14's hydrant and streched a line to back them up. All searches were negative and units cleared after about 3 hours due the large amount of debris in the dwelling that had to be overhauled.
Box Alarm 8-4. Truck 23 responded as the fill in truck to 1615 Edmondson Avenue for a dwelling fire with a report of people trapped. As Truck 23 arrived there was heavy smoke coming from 3 dwellings. T23 assissted units already on scene with their Thermal Imaging Camera in the exposures and with ventilation. All searches were negative and the fire was contained to 1 dwelling by Engine 8.
Box Alarm 58-14. Engine 58 was sent out on an investigation and upon their arrival requested the rest of the box for 2320 W. Patapsco Ave. Units quickly dicovered they had a basement fire and knocked the fire with little extension to the first floor.
Engine 55 and Truck 23 finish off 2007 with 2 fires.
Box Alarm 14-8, day. Units responded for a report of smoke at the intersection of Baltimore St. and Carrollton Ave. Engine 14 reported smoke showing from 5 S. Carrollton, a 3 story middle of the group vacant store front. Engine 55 grabbed a hydrant and led off to the rear as Truck 23 who arrived first, took the front of the building. Truck 23 laddered the building and had multiple saws in use removing boarded up windows and cutting open metal roll-up doors.
Box Alarm 14-4, night. Units responded for a kitchen fire at 2135 Wilkens Ave. Engine 55 covered engine 14's plug and backed them up with second line. Truck 23 threw multiple ladders, ventilated the building and performed a primary and secondary search.
Box Alarm 55-9. On Christmas Eve while Truck 23 was on a CO call in 47's area, a Box was struck out for 312 S. Norris St. with a report of people trapped and T23 quickly added themselves to the call. Engine 55 lead off and brought water to Engine 14 who was reporting a 2 story middle of the group with smoke showing, BC3 was reporting fire showing from the rear. E55 assissted E14 with locating the fire and extinguishing the fire. Members from T23 and R1 removed a victim from the second floor rear bathroom, breaching a wall in the process. Units actions were hampered by the size of the victim and the amount of debris in the dwelling. "News Story"
Box Alarm 55-3. Units responded for a dwelling fire at 1157 Carroll Street. Truck 23 arrived to find a 2 story end of group with smoke showing from 1167 Carroll, a closed up vacant. Truck 23 threw mulitple ladders and did forcible entry while Engine 55 led off and stretched lines. Units quickly found and knocked the 2nd floor middle bedroom which had burned out the floor allowing for 2 and 1 to handle the incident.
Box Alarm 14-6. Engine 55 and Truck 23 responded for a dwelling fire at 2035 Wilkens Avenue. Engine 14 arrived with fire showing. Engine 55 arrived and quickly stretched a line, backing up E14 while Truck 23 laddered the building and began opening up and conducting primary and secondary search. The fire was contained to the bathroom and hallway and the incident was handled with 2 engines and 1 truck.
